Slickback’s own Power Scooter arrived on time and well packed
in a colossal packing box.
First impressions were it was a lot larger than we expected, was very
solid and looked even cooler than we’d imagined which was all
good.
It took about 15 minutes to set up and get running (see actual photos
above)
It is very important to run these engines in gently for the first hour
or two to insure long life. Slickback just left it idling and it didn’t
stall once.
With a 15 stone test pilot aboard off it went and had no problem getting
up to a good speed. One thing worth considering is the automatic centrifugal
clutch has a lot of strain on it when pulling off from stationary (especially
with 15 stone on board) so it’s worth giving is a few pushes to
prolong it’s life and get you off the mark.
All in all it’s been hysterical fun and if used on road (not legal
in UK) a great way to pop down to the shops.
Make sure you’ve protected yourself with the correct gear (Slickback
recommends full leathers and full face helmet.)
