Brilliant design as they are active which means the unit contains both
the Speaker and the Amplifier integrated into it. The units have also
been designed to work together so the cabinet is just right for the
speaker as is the amplifier. If you purchase different components from
different manufacturers they may not integrate well with each other.
All you need to do is add connections from your head unit and some power
from the battery.
These connector kits cost £25 from accessory shops and it you
can’t fit it yourself you should be paying around £50 for
the kit fitted.

So how loud are they and what’s the difference between?
As you can see from the manufactures info below the amplifiers and peak
power are nearly the same on both the 10inch and 12 inch models. The
difference is the type of bass created.
The 10inch has a loud harder punchier sound as a smaller speaker can
react faster.
The 12inch has a deeper hard punch which may not seem quite as loud
as it’s deeper.
The best way to work out which one is for you is budget verses the
style of music you listen to.
If you love music with loads of sub-bass (R&B, Drum and Bass and
the like it might be worth doing for the 12 otherwise the 10 is ideal)
How loud?
These units create good loud pure base that sounds great in the car
but is not of a level that will set other car alarms off as you drive
by.
It’s like turning the Sub up on a home cinema system but as with
all good base you can talk over it (even though those in the back seat
can feel their internal organs moving)
Slickback runs two big vehicles (Chevy Van and BMW 7 series) and the
10inch is just the right side of ridicules bass.
